FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Young Democrats and Chair Kerrigan Reach Agreement to Seat Youth Representatives

The Young Democrats of Massachusetts are pleased that Chair Kerrigan has agreed to immediately seat all duly elected youth representatives on the Democratic State Committee.
As a matter of correction, this agreement occurred soon before the prior email was sent. All parties involved recognize that we must, as Democrats, focus on the fights ahead with those powers that threaten the future of America. Debates within our party must take a backseat to this goal.
This outcome upholds the Massachusetts Democratic Party Charter and affirms the longstanding right of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts, the College Democrats of Massachusetts, and the High School Democrats of Massachusetts to directly select their representatives to the State Committee, and the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s commitment to empowering and uplifting the youth voices within the party.
YDMA looks forward to continuing our work with the Massachusetts Democratic Party to build a strong, united Democratic Party that reflects the leadership and energy of young Democrats across the Commonwealth.
