Boston, MA — The Young Democrats of Massachusetts (YDMA) today announced their first round of endorsements for the 2026 midterm elections, backing four young Democratic candidates running in Republican-held districts:
Shannon Teabo, State Senate (Worcester & Hampshire)
Jack Richardson, State House (3rd Barnstable)
Nick Lazzaro, State House (7th Worcester)
Daniel Darris-O’Connor, State House (22nd Middlesex)
"We refuse to give conservative incumbents a free pass, and are proud that young people are the tip of the spear fighting for our values in every community across the Commonwealth" said Chris Cantwell, VP of Political Affairs for the Young Democrats of Massachusetts. "These candidates are stepping into tough fights because their communities deserve leaders focused on real solutions rather than MAGA rhetoric. YDMA is proud to stand behind them as we work to flip these seats."
YDMA is also proud to endorse red-to-blue State House candidates Tom Melville (9th Norfolk), Jen Heck (18th Worcester), and Lori Childs (5th Plymouth), along with incumbent Governor's Councilor Tamisha Civil (District 2). The organization will continue to consider and make endorsements for the duration of the cycle.
